I didn't hear these amps yet, but I read somewhere about levinsion vs. concentra. They said the rowland would sound warmer and more natural. the levinson would sound more transparent, but less emotional.

Not much of a help, I guess Smiley

I did get opportunities to hear Jeff Rowland amps, mainly the Model 5 stereo & 7 monos and I also heard Model 8T stereo and the much newer Model 10, 12 monos. I find as time has progressed, i.e. Models 5 & 7 are mainly 1980s products, the 8T being a 90s product while 10 & 12 being the new millenium ones, the warmth part has slowly been traded off for greater transparency which has robbed the emotional content of the music very vital for a complete realisation.

Unfortunately, I couldnt hear any one of them with B&Ws so I would be very interested to know from people who actually have such setups.

Many have termed the earlier Jeff Rowland amps esp Model 5 & 7 being valve-like!

Ive heard some of the bigger 800 series with some macintosh amps. sounds very cool - imho lots better than krell, burmester, etc.. after that i heard a few times about people driving 800er speakers with macintosh. marantz, classe and rotel are used often to.

Hello you guys. You all seem to be Moderators or admin. Is this site an authorised B&W site or an enthusiasts site? I have been a B&W enthusist for many years having worked in the factory in my youth and owned many of thier high end speakers.

To keep kind of on topic, I find Meridian amps work well.
